I disagree with the author who plagarized a book years ago called ‘It takes a village’ – it doesn’t take a village to raise your child but it is good to know that your village has your back.

Thank you Grunt GI for having our backs both back in the day and now….

      • June 24, 2015 at 5:46 pm

Well, thank you very much, I was fortunate to serve with a lot of great Americans.
But, I think we should all thank Chris for depicting what many of us are thinking…and doing it with humor and magnificent rendering of the female form.

Uh-oh. What Texan would ever use a word like tuchis, unless he were a New York expat who located in Austin?

You would never think of Ford and Wilder in a Western but I really did enjoy that movie – going to have to look it since I haven’t seen it in a while.

That might be Richard “Kinky” Friedman, a writer, musician and satirical humorist who ran for Governor in 2006 (actually got about 12% of the votes). Do a search for his band “Kinky Friedman and the Texas Jewboys” to get an idea of his style. He’s an admitted liberal but he’s a “Texan by Choice” first. Songs include “How Can I Tell You I Love You (When You’re Sitting On My Face)” and “Get Your Biscuits in the Oven and Your Buns in the Bed” (dedicated to feminists!).

(Seeing into the future) If Texas pols didn’t see fit to tear down the University of Texas Tower in 1966 after Charles Whitman shot dozens of people and killed fifteen of them, why should the Confederate battle flag be banned now? Just because one nutcase decided to redefine it to his own purposes and Yankee liberals have done the same doesn’t change how normal southerners feel about it.

    • June 24, 2015 at 7:37 am

Progressives don’t care what “normal” people think about anything. Their “feelings”, and their lust for power over others, is all that matters.

I understand that to placate this lot, WB is now pulling all licenses for “Dukes of Hazzard” merchandise because a certain orange Dodge Charger had a flag painted on the roof.

Who. In. Their. Right. Mind. Cares. (And for the record, I never watched the show- car-crash shows bore me.)

My only interest in DoH was that it induced MPC/Ertl/AMT/Round 2 to re-issue a few of their old “annual” 1/25 car models because they were used on the show, notably the ’73 Plymouth Road Runner. (They had a yellow one on the show- I painted mine Pacific Blue Metallic because my cousin used to have one that color.)

As for the G*****l L**, mine’s painted black over that gawdawful orange plastic. The “flag”? It’ll be used in a diorama of a Civil War coast artillery emplacement.

I’m wondering when model kit makers will ban any Civil War subjects (like, say, the USS Monitor and CSS Virginia ex- USS Merrimac) to avoid that flag.

There was once a Chinese emperor who, upon ascending the throne, ordered all books and scrolls in the land burnt so that all history would begin with his reign. The Soviets routinely “rewrote” history, airbrushing leaders out of photos depending on who was up or down at any given moment.

Modern-day progressives believe that their Utopian future is fixed and immutable. All they have to do is change the past to make any theory of the world but theirs impossible.

If you stand for accuracy, you’re evil. Just ask them, they’ll tell you.

Progressives love to divide. That’s how they conquer.

And erasing history is part of the game.

I had some Prog troll object to a small Stainless Banner sticker I had on my car’s rear window. So I replaced it with the Bonnie Blue Flag. He never had a clue.

I’ll have to look that one up. I think I remember that from long ago and far away.
BUt – to continue on the seditious note: I wonder where I can find (or would I have to have it made?) a sticker of the III-per / Nyberg flag (thirteen stars in a circle, Roman numeral III in the middle of the circle, standard 13 stripes)?

The re-writing of history by totalitarian governments goes way back – the Pharaohs of ancient Egypt used to have the previous guy’s name chiseled off monuments and their own put in its place. This apparently often happened multiple times to the same temple, statue, etc., over time.

  • June 24, 2015 at 8:39 am

Other than the one nutball jihadi who like all nutball jihadis of various stripes imagines that the gods, the ancestors, and the virgins will adore and revere him, the racism in this case is entirely of the “reverse” variety.

These racists use such a singular tragedy to blood-dance and advance their racist cause, ie: politicians, media, celebrities, academics; they are indeed nothing but pathetic, racist opportunists and progs.

Wallyworld is dropping Confederate memorabilia, a major flagmaker is stopping production of the flag, and even Nascar has knuckled under.

And this is just a practice run. They tried going after your guns after the blood-dancing party in Conn., but realized their goals have to be realized more incrementally. But that is what they’re after. And then?

Oh, Amazon and Ebay too; not only have the racist/socialists succeeded in scaring PC companies shitless and into not selling products themselves, they’ve decided they won’t let anyone else sell them either.

Banned. Because a Confederate Flag is the same as a swastika, and anyone who would display it is the same as a Nazi. Got it.

Oh, nazi and communist memorabilia is perfectly all right. It still appears as for sale.
It’s only Confederate memorabilia and/or anything with the Confederate battle flag ( Flag of Virginia) or the flag itself that is prohibited.

I was shocked to hear Elijah Cummings actually knew that it’s not the Confederate flag that everybody has their panties in a bunch over; that it’ the Battle Ensign flying over N.C.. However, he was PO that it is a flag of “Rebellion”, and that’s why it should be taken down. Yep, just like the “Gadsden Flag”, and “Old Glory” are flags of Rebellion against tyranny.

  • June 24, 2015 at 5:51 pm

So, since EVERYONE in America seems to be hyperventilating and breathlessly offended about the Confederate flag…or at least that’s what CNNMSNBCBSABC wants you to think, what about this story?

    http://www.thefederalistpapers.org/us/illegal-alien-grad-waves-mexican-flag-at-u-s-graduation

I mean, golly gosh..this OFFENDS me…someone should do something about this…I am OFFENDED….my feelings are hurt…my micro-aggression triggers are going off…

I refer you to Webster’s Dictionary:

    il·le·gal
    i(l)ˈlēɡəl/
    adjective
    1. contrary to or forbidden by law, especially criminal law.

    Seems pretty straightforward to me…

But what do I know, I am just a grouchy, old, white, veteran, Christian heterosexual male…the last unprotected species in the American political landscape.
