    OT;

Mozilla won’t connect to HotGas, claiming its security cert is invalid. It also won’t connect to Sophie Ro’s Predictable History, Unpredictable Past, just freezing and refusing to refresh. Can anyone here notify either or both, please?

I’m beginning to think FF is trying to “erase” sites they consider “un-P.C”.

    Sort of like Twitter.

I don’t know what “HotGas” is (and google doesn’t help; there are lots of propane companies plumping for my business though…), but I was able to connect to Predictable History, Unpredictable Past. Never been there, but the first line on the page is: “OBAMA IS JUST THE LATEST, BIGGEST, LONGEST-LASTING HAEMORRHOID ON THE ***HOLE THAT IS THE AMERICAN LEFT!” – (line censored for reposting in this comment section). The site will probably bear more perusing later.

I’m running the latest version of Firefox (updated a couple weeks ago). Is it possible your system’s time/date has been reset or slipped? That’s an easy way to get broad-based “unverifiable certificate” responses from Firefox. The system thinks the certs have all expired or are not yet valid.

Possible, which was why I reloaded FF with the latest version. Still, the same thing happened with Forgotten Weapons yesterday, but it wasn’t happening with other more- P.C. sites I frequent.

eon, I just successfully sent Chrome to HotGas.net with no problems. Same with Sophie Ro’s Predictable History, Unpredictable Past. No problems with Chrome – SO FAR! It could be an issue with your ISP or withe FF. I suggest you open a DOS window (AKA “command prompt”) and try to “ping” or “tracert” the URLs you are having trouble with. If you can ping them or tracert to them then it’s most likely FF. When you get that bad security cert message, does FF let you override to go there anyhow?

I tried FF several (10+) years ago but went with Chrome instead. Never looked back. But … different strokes for different folks.

Hotgas.net is the landing place of the commenter community from hotair.com after hotair implemented FB comments a few weeks ago. Decent new site. It’s legit. Firefox is trying some funny business. Safari doesn’t throw any errors at all, but it is a relatively new site so they may not have their certs up to snuff.

(If by “HotGas” you meant HotAir.com (I don’t go there anymore so didn’t make the connection at first) I can connect there too.)

Hunh. Guess I wasn’t the only one who found their blogging style off-putting, then.

      • March 3, 2016 at 5:08 am

most of the commenters had been there for 10+ years. HA announced they were going to facebook for comments and damn near everyone jumped ship. mostly it was anonymity, and the fact that facebook, like twitter, is not a place where conservative ideas are tolerated. right now hotair has about 1% of the readership it had. and they’re still not backing down.

Here’s one for http://predicthistunpredictpast.blogspot.com/ . If you figure out what’s playing-up with your browser, I’d like to know.

      • March 3, 2016 at 7:21 pm

I was on Hot Air since Captains Quarters. HA’s biggest problem was their welcoming establishment trolls for clicks. A normal person can take only so much trolling without going nuts. The final straw for me was when they went to third party comment control. 10+ years there and I never had a ban. A few months at DbD and I find out I’m rude. DbD is still better. Since I left HA, I have found a treasure trove on new interesting sites.

The thing about a well drawn ‘toon is that the women in them always have perky boobs after the birth and nursing of the young ones.
It took a well made corset to look like that after having mine. ehem.

Will there be heads being snatched bald headed and beards looking all patchy when Naomi gets done? Maybe some broken limbs, noses and balls?

I think Naomi stores a bayonet lying across the top, that might get the nipples pointing up. Of course, that begs the question of where she is keeping her pistol. 😉

But, Pamela, a real man considers droopy, baby chewed breasts and baby stretch marks highly attractive because they indicate proven fecundity. Perky is fine for recreation but droopy and stretched means procreation – i.e. compliance with the biological imperative. Whether you harken to Divine fiat – “Be fruitful and multiply” – or basic biological imperative “living things are DNA’s way of making more DNA”, either way a real man loves such breasts. I personally think breasts are there – whether evolved or created – for men to play with and thus keep men interested. Any man disses your pretties isn’t worth listening to. Such a one is exceedingly far beneath contempt.

  • March 3, 2016 at 12:46 am

‘Toons and avatars, based on available evidence. Still prefer live pics if you’re, um, up for it. 😉

Didn’t the humans in “Terminator” (I just said that in Arnold’s voice in my head) use dogs to sniff out Terminators? Well indeed they are mans best friend.

I’m just glad our 105 lb Black Lab never met one of these robots. He would have been trying to hump that contraption till the next county. My girlfriend loved that dog but never turned her back to him. My best friend used to call him a ‘poon hound.
