The two most interesting thing about this are first, that when Brzezinski said this on the air, nobody in the studio raised an eyebrow. There has never before this been a more perfect and public example of the hothouse, “echo chamber” culture of the “enlightened elite'” broadcast on national TV.
The second interesting thing is that Joe Scarborough, supposedly one of the smarter and better-educated newsies, is so ignorant of history that he doesn’t know that in the Soviet Union and Fascist Italy, Lenin and Mussolini didn’t refer to “the press” as “enemies of the people”, because they literally owned the “press”, which was a government department in each case.
For instance, the two major newspapers in Russia, Pravda (“Truth”) and Izvestia (“News”), were owned by the CPSU and the Soviet government, respectively. Hence the old Soviet-era joke,
“Pravda means ‘Truth’, and Izvestia means ‘News’. The problem is, there is no truth in Pravda and no news in Izvestia.”
I’m not sure which is a greater concern. This lot’s arrogance, or their stupidity.

Trump has been telling truth that had been slandered by the press for years. Americans understood that trump was saying things that were true.
