Thai Scientists Develop COVID-19 Vaccine Using Tobacco Leaves

A Chulalongkorn University doctor on Saturday announced that tests of new locally produced COVID-19 vaccines on monkeys had proved successful.

Head of the Thai Red Cross Emerging Infectious Disease Health Science Centre, Dr Thiravat Hemachudha, said the latest vaccine, using proteins from tobacco leaves, had been tested on mice and monkeys with satisfactory results and will now go through a purification process before it is tested in human trials.

The doctor explained the vaccine is produced by integrating the virus’ DNA into tobacco leaves. The plant responds to the DNA and produces proteins about a week later. These proteins are extracted to make the vaccine.

Dr Thiravat said the vaccine not only produces antibodies but can also stimulate T cells to produce antibodies themselves when meeting the same virus. @COVID19Up SOURCE

That would be nicer if viruses (virii?) didn’t mutate so rapidly. This is the problem with the flu vaccines. The “scientists” are throwing darts at the board, and most of the time they’re wrong.

      • August 31, 2020 at 7:40 am

        @Woodsman,
It is just like everything else, racism, social injustice, Gun bans, etcetera. The left wing politicians and nut job rioters are trying to solve symptoms of the problem, and not the actual problem. They don’t seem to get the fact that if you cure a symptom the problem is still there. If the libtards would start taking a more; less government, more personal responsibility type attitude they would be taking the first step towards solving the problem. Getting rid of these problems has to start from within a person. And the one thing you or I have no control over, not even it is legislated, is how another person thinks or believes. The individual has to change that. How is committing many social injustices on other people going to solve the social injustice problem? It actually creates more symptoms from the people that want social justice.

DH, all absolutely correct, but overlooking the “root” of the issue. Which is that the left has no interest in solving any of those problems but worsening them in the hope that the resistance (us) will finally give up…the symptoms they attack are actually OUR responses to the problem, and if they can beat us down bit by bit they will ultimately win the issue.

That is happening right now as they have decided to go full on attack with the riots to support the destruction wrought by the weaponization of the ChiCom flu. And it is working big time as evidenced by the corporate bowing and scraping (CYA) discussed here. 2A onslaught will begin immediately after they take the presidency and all the murder and mayhem going on now is also prep for that.

I’m now imagining President Trump in front of a running montage of burning buildings. And he’s mimicking the GEICO ads by saying “I saved a ton of money on campaign ads by just showing what democrats do, and what they say.” A long series of ads like that could be made by following it with a clip of some notable comment a leftist let slip.

Without the GEICO reference, that’s the theme of a current online ad running. The Communists are making their own case for being discarded, along with validating those “crazy” earlier purchases of ammo, radios, and provisions.

Just a notice to say that our organization will no longer have dealings with Kickstarter of any kind. They literally support defunding police departments, and that’s something we just can’t take any part in.
So this is the last communication you will ever receive from us on this platform.
I can’t imagine ever regretting this.
We have cancelled all our Kickstarter projects. If you’re interested in our work going forward we have moved operations to IndieGoGo, and, of course, there is always our website.
    Farewell and godspeed.
Show support and stay involved—let William Dalebout know you read this update.

    Hope this helps-

Sorry, but I can’t watch someone who is as ignorant as that guy is about farming and food production and storage. There IS no war on food production. If a grain elevator explodes like that one did, it is spontaneous combustion. I grew up in farmland and silo fires that big were not unusual. If the corn or any other grain is TOO DRY in the bin, static electricity will EASILY spark an explosion. It is NOT something new and it is NOT unusual.

We’ve had a long, dry summer in the Midwest with low humidity and erratic rain events – SO erratic, in fact, that any grain = wheat, corn, soybeans, oats, even popcorn – that was damaged by that derecho can be regrown. The derecho that went through farmlands and tore through Chicago and it suburbs was a natural event. Humans do NOT have the ability to control the weather, no matter what he thinks. Derechos are straight-line winds that start spontaneously and spawn tornadoes as they move. The 1974 tornado swarm that tore through the Midwest and destroyed Xenia, Ohio, started as a derecho.

The silo explosion in Lebanon was caused by 2750 tones of ammonium nitrate -FERTILIZER – spontaneously igniting, after being stored there for 6 years. These things happen. There’s no conspiracy involved. Beirut can build new grain storage bins, and in the meantime, they will be buying wheat from commodities market sources. That’s how that works.

Negligence and bad weather cause a lot of problems in agriculture, which that rather uninformed person does not seem to understand. We’re having a dry growing season this year. It happens sometimes. There’s no conspiracy involved in this. PERIOD. What would he say about the Dust Bowl, which was caused by a failure of annual monsoonal air to flow out of the Gulf of Mexico into the Plains States. Those things happen. That was the 1930s. Would he label THAT a conspiracy? It went on for 10 years and then corrected itself. THESE THINGS HAPPEN.

If there’s some conspiracy to destroy food supplies, then how come I’m still buying stuff at the grocery store and visiting the market gardens in my area? Would you like to explain that to me? I”m about to go apple picking a few miles north of me. Plenty of apples of many varieties are ready now, and cider will be available in about SIX weeks.

The only shortages I’ve seen around here were in the beginning of the pandemic isolation that sent people fleeing in panic to Costco to grab all the paper products they could find. Didn’t bother me since I don’t shop at Costco, but that seems to have corrected itself.

I still can’t get Formula 409 because it’s not back on the shelves so far at Walmart. I’ll have to order it from Amazon, instead. They have it – in GALLON jugs. I’ll order TWO of them. The stay-at-home mandate must have made people see how grungy their dwellings really were.

He’s being ridiculous. It is obvious he knows a whole lot LESS than he pretends to know.

    > This is QUEEN PELOSI’S NEW JET!!! And the Democrats talk about Melania’s dresses???
    >
    >
    > Queen Pelosi wasn’t happy with the small USAF C-20B jet, Gulfstream III, that comes with the Speaker’s job … OH NO! Queen Pelosi was aggravated that this little jet had to stop to refuel, so she ordered a Big Fat, 200-seat, USAF C-32, Boeing 757 jet that could get her back to California without stopping! I understand that a former Speaker of the House, Newt Gingrich, flew commerical most of the time.
    >
    >
    > Many, many legislators walked by and grinned with glee as Joe informed everyone of what Queen Nancy’s Big Fat Jet costs us, the hard working American tax payers, literally thousands of gallons of fuel every week.
    > Since she only works 3 days a week, this gas guzzling jet gets fueled and she flies home to California every Friday and returns every Monday, at a cost to the taxpayers (YOU and ME are those taxpayers!) of about $60,000, one way!
    > As Joe put it …”unfortunately we have to pay to bring her back on Monday night and that costs us another $60,000!” Taxpayers, that is $480,000 per month and that is an annual cost to us of $5,760,000!!!
    > No wonder she complains about the cost of this war … it might cramp her style and she is styling on my back and yours. I think of the military families in this country doing without and this woman, who heads up the most do-nothing Congress in the history of our country, keeps fueling that jet while doing nothing.

    > Queen Pelosi wants you and me to conserve our carbon footprint. She wants us to buy smaller cars and Obama wanted us to get a bicycle pump and air up our tires. Who do these people think they are??? Their motto is … Don’t do as I do .. JUST DO AS I SAY!
    >
    >
    > If you think this is outrageous, forward it to all those on your email list! Keep in mind the figures above do NOT include the cost of plane or crew … just the fuel!!! One has to wonder what the total package costs us?

@My Way Or: Too dry and a full silo can spark and explode. Too wet, and the grain rots, generating heat and methane, and explode. It’s rare, but only because there is a lot of expertise and experience in the people storing the food. And if there are leftists who want to destroy silos, I doubt they would know how to do it, short of leaving explosive traces and buying enough explosives to risk being traced.

But COVID-19 and the lockdowns do have effects on the food supply. Crops don’t get harvested if the workers are ill or staying indoors, but I doubt that will be much of a problem – except where minimum wage hired hands are making more money from subsidized unemployment than they would by working! OTOH, thanks to the requirement to have a federal inspector on site, most meat butchering has been done by huge, crowded corporate plants, which have a big problem with spreading COVID. Farmers _have_ had to slaughter and bury or burn livestock because they could not get it slaughtered in accordance with regulations for saleable meat.
