Not really high-powered at all. Just easy to use, convenient, and high round content.
In my very young foolish days, I used a Remington 700 BDL in 300 Win Mag. That had a tendency to be high-powered enough that they were used as long-distance sniper rifles by the US forces for years.

Winchester Model 70 Laredo .300 WM, 10x scope here.

.300 WM and 7mm RM are great for beyond 400 meters. Until you find out that they can burn out the leade in under 3,000 rounds.

Overall, out to 1,000, the winner and still champion is still .30-06 with 180 grain match bullets.

My fist is an “assault weapon” if I wave it in your face while threatening you. And a “battery” weapon if I make contact. OTOH, an AR-15 is an underpowered (intentionally – increases controllability), ergonomic, semi-auto carbine. IE, an M-1 carbine with an upgraded stock and slightly better ballistics.

    Hard on the girl.

Leaped out of the frying pan and into the fire…

Or is it snatched from the fire and tossed into the pan?

    Big difference. Time will tell.

More like, they also submit you to regular public humiliation, demand abasement, and reserve the privilege of sacrificing you to their gods (i.e. their own egos) when it would amuse (or satiate) them to do so.

The problem with two-track justice is that we still are not being told why, apparently, nothing was done to stop it between 2016-2020. We were promised criminal Democrats/Media would finally be held to account and got – nada. Why?

There may be understandable reasons why nothing was done (see: Mafia(D), severed horseheads etc), but it’s the utter silence about it all – from ALL sides – that’s most disconcerting. So much, about such tectonic events, we still are not being told jacksquat about. Why?

The answer to your question is actually why Trump got elected in the first place.
The Swamp got noticed because it is so vast it could no longer be ignored, and its pervasiveness made it impossible to drain by just one President, no matter how popular he might be.
We’ve got a lot of DemocRATS to exterminate and RINOs to primary and a lot of MSM to bankrupt before we can wrest back the country from the Progressive Fascists.
Note that I define Fascism the same way Mussolini did. It’s not an accident that the Democratic Party is now the Party of the Rich, nor is it an accident that this all came about because we did not heed the warning from Eisenhower about the Military Industrial Complex.
The only thing that might save our bacon here is we’ve built a war machine so huge that it can defend the nation _in spite_ of the rotten leadership. This is a lesson the Union learned during the Civil War, that you can make up in Logistics what you lack in Leadership.

We actually have three “justice” tracks.

The elite’ can do anything and never face consequences.

Their anointed ‘identity groups” can burn, loot, murder and etc. and never face consequences, as long as they keep the peasantry cowed.

The peasantry will face the full weight of the “justice” system when they do anything- or nothing at all. Purely on the whims of the ruling class, which despises them and seeks to punish them for the crime of existing in the first place.

It’s what feudalism would have been like under the Jacobins. And what it was like in England in the time of Charles I.

It’s what causes the likes of Cromwell and Bonaparte. And you can debate whether or not that is good, or bad.

I would love to see an American “Cromwell” march into the Capital and declare “You have sat too long for any good you have been doing. Depart, I say, and let us have done with you. In the name of God, go!” Cromwell himself did so to the Rump Parliament in 1653 backed by only 40 musketeers.

Of course his rule was not a perfect time of peace, prosperity, and love for all. But at least he tried, which is more then any of our current leaders are able to do.

Not sure I would wont to live under a “Cromwell” but I would enjoy watching our 535 congress critters and senators void themselves when the troops come marching in.

Considering that Charles I used Irish mercenaries to enforce his whacked-out edicts when his Trained Bands weren’t enough, and did so particularly in the fens country where Cromwell was from, I can understand why he had no particular love for the sons of Erin, either.

Another example of “It’s a matter of who’s ox got gored first”.

And not only is two-tiered “justice” supported/ enabled by the majority of elected Republicans, but look at how many international “conservative” parties “on the Right” (hi Boris) have refused to even discuss the brazenly blatantly criminal 2020 election fraud, much less condemn it? To my knowledge, here’s how many “allies on the Right” are standing up for free and fair elections in the US: 0 (zero %). If that’s what “conservative” means at this crunchiest of crunch times, I’m out.

If you pay attention to the likes of Carl Benjamin (AKA Sargon of Akkad) over at The Lotus Eaters, he has the same complaint about “conservatives” in Merry Olde England. Apparently the Parliamentary System is even worse than ours when it comes to pinning down political affiliations within a Party. Their Conservative Party is even more incompetent in draining the Swamp than we are in spite of their landslide victory in the last election.

It’s no accident that the author of “The Mouse That Roared” created the Parliament of the Duchy of Grand Fenwick as consisting of the Loyalists (who supported the monarch) and the Loyal Opposition, who differed from the Loyalists only by the color of their ribbons.
