The Lone Ranger made sure the Indians got justice, too.

I think she was referring to “Tonto” Jay Silverheels I think.

He was forced to speak and behave in stereotypical fashion for that role, but he swallowed his pride for the income and steady pay, and was able to eventually open doors for native Americans (and Canadiens) to play indigenous roles.

So the “Lone Ranger” did “keep him down” until he could move beyond that show.

Most Indians spoke a broken English. If you think otherwise, read some history.

PS At the same time he made the Lone Ranger, he also made Broken Arrow playing Geronimo. He spoke plain English because the concept was his Apache words were translated for the audience. And he did a lot of work before and during the time he played Tonto.

As I say, do some reading.

A great Carol Burnett skit with Tim Conway on the phone trying to talk Silverheels into coming back for another run at for the “Lone Ranger”: “Come on it will be great, like the old times. We ride around, and you call me Ke-mo-sab-be” … “Oh?”… “That’s what Kemosabbe means! Well kimeosabbe to you too!”

Kemo Sabe was what Tonto referred to the Lone Ranger, Bad Spanish for “One who knows all, or Know it all.” Tonto is Spanish for fool of course.

No, it was the name of a summer camp in MI George Trendle (creator of the Lone Ranger) attended when he was a boy.

And Tonto was a riff on what the other Apaches called that clan. The Spaniards later adopted it. Interestingly, Tonto was supposed to be a Potawatomi, which was a woodland tribe. His name in Potawatomi means wild one.

        So there.

No, it was originally ‘quien no sabe” but sounded like “kemosabe” so the producers kept it.

Quien no sabe means “whom no one knows”.

An Old Hollywood story, or I guess really radio, since that is where the show started. They wanted to use actual Indian lingo, but knew of no Indians to ask; but they had a Mexican who worked there. Close enough? He gave them the words “Kemosabe” and “Tonto” to use. They butchered the pronunciation for “Que no sabe” He doesn’t know, “Tonto” dummy. Can not verify as to the voracity, but it does sound plausible.

A picture of a Guardsman clearly shows no Mag in the M4. Now maybe the ones on the perimeter checkpoints allowing entry to D.C. had ammo. Cuz they would need it to shoot the “prolls” trying to crash the party.

Typically, if they had ammo, the magazine would be kept in their tactical gear pouch, Rather, than the M4.

Nah, this is the old Snopes “change the claim” trick:

“Social media posts claiming the Biden-Harris Presidential Transition team requested military leaders confiscate National Guard members ammo and magazines ahead of the inauguration to thwart a potential assassination are FALSE based on our research.”

All that means is that the transition team didn’t do it — the Speaker (who arranged for them to be there in the first place) did it.

And if the individual soldiers were disarmed, and bulk ammo was stored in secured vehicles JIC, you get the same results.

30K National Guardsmen in D.C. disarmed and/or with no ammo are about as effective as Emperor Qin’s Terracotta Army … all symbolism; no fight.

Biden/Harris/Pelosi/Schumer turning 30K our OUR National Guardsmen into 21st terracotta props probably makes sense in their eyes … the Democrats are an owned subsidiary of the Chinese Communist Party.

There just is so much seerwious stuff heer. I am melting my brain in mindless Japanese comics (hentai? Anime?} in which cuteness is all important. Even with the scawy big monsters stomping and rampaging acwoss Tokyo and Japan. This keeps the biggest worries about a teenager feeling weird and worrying about some bot thinking she is weird, all because she is a girl who battles monsters and has a tail and furry big cat ears, and about will the boy she crushes on will try to kiss her, oir all sorts of other majorly traumatic things in the lives of the Japanese.
I am getting my mind “Mew Mew” ed.

Like real success and solutions have a damn thing to do with why the UN wants us in their Paris Ponzi scheme.

OTOH climate evolution is a real concern as the planet tries to absorb too many people and too much greed so what is a real plan to address it?

Well, listen to Dilbert Dude in that podcast I linked talk about Elon’s approach. Produce less carbon of course as possible and as we have been but flipping the big focus to carbon-capture is the alpha engineer‘s idea, backed up with 100 million of his own $…haven’t seen strength of personal convictions like that since PDJT put it all on the line for America.

I didn’t like hearing that the self-made mega-rich (Gates, ugh) are so key but in this context let’s just call that “an inconvenient truth”…if these guys say the current trajectory even shifting to nukes won’t be enough, we better listen.

So yeah, fuck the international learned ones who are jonesing to get their hands back in our pockets and all the stupid that is the Climate Movement. Put your belief and your money on the engineers to save the world by innovation, again.

My God! People are using facts here! And analysis! And logic!
And discussing actually solving problems! And actually solving problems. And improving the lives of those legally in the USA. And helping the world solve their problems and improve their lives where they are without them having to move to an Elysium in some other nation.
Hasn’t Uncle Joe already banned that stuff in his EO’s yet?
If not yet banned, it will happen soon.
I tried Sliders as a fantasy escape. But there the pilot episode showed an alternate Earth where the Communists had won, and the bum that slept in a San Francisco park behind a statue of Abraham Lincoln was a US Senator in the alternate Earth, with the staue now being one of Vladimir Lenin.
Then an episode in which a government created disease called the Fever was killing millions. An episode in which if your social score as given by those around you could result in your execution if it fell too low. Cancel culture in another. It went on. No fantasy refuge there.
I may have to engage again. We had a repreive. It was a good run against the most powerful and evil adversaries in the world today. They’re back. And so are we.
Hire and spend smart. That is wisely. Like the leftists and sharia followers say, ever action you take can either help or hinder your enemies.
Reality is wierder and more dangerous or rewarding than fantasy.
