    When my kids came home from high school a decade or so ago using the word “racist” to describe basically anything and everything, I found it disconcerting.

    Me: “Did you do your homework?”
    Son: “Of course! Stop being racist!”
    Me: “How is checking your homework racist?”
    Son: “It just is.” followed by laughter…

    I asked the kids about that and where they figured it was going. They said all of the kids are making jokes like that. I pointed out my concern that when everyone is racist, nobody is racist… and they shrugged their shoulders.

    The only upside that I see is that means racism must be such a non-issue that it can be made into an ongoing bad joke…

    MmMMmmm… Chick-Fil-A…

      I’d take kimchi and rice anytime just to not have to eat chicken.

        In Nam, our mess hall had rice and chicken and chicken and rice for two meals a day. When, they served it for breakfast, the entire unit, except the cooks, lined up at the orderly room to complain. Even C rats looked good.

      Sorry for those whose military experience gave them a chicken pox (heh), but I wonder if giving a whole boneless breast of chicken sandwich a try could change that from the McChicken model of ground up beaks and feet (“parts is parts”) that probably was used in military mess as well.

      They are being banned from some leftist city airport food courts and colleges, how evil an agenda is that? Worst case you can toss it or give it to the dog and you would have still supported one of the very few unapologetic supporters of conservative and Christian values. Have to help them that helps us, and it is worth saying that their success is based not just on their facing down the dark side but also on a truly superior product and service…”It’s my pleasure” comes with every single order.

      Thank the French Revolution. They went all-in on ignorance and mysticism because “reason” (not to mention Christianity) were considered to be the delusions of the nobility. Among other things, they were the first Western state to outlaw Christianity- following the example of Islam.

      Antoine Lavoisier was a good example of their opinion of “reason”;

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antoine_Lavoisier

      The scientist who discovered hydrogen and oxygen (and named them), he was a French “minor nobility” type who threw in his lot with the revolutionaries. In the internal conflicts within the Revolutionary political matrix, he was essentially framed for a financial crime- and guillotined.

      The moral is that you can’t trust a homicidal loony to be anything but a homicidal loony. And the left pride themselves on being exactly that.

        “The scientist who discovered hydrogen and oxygen”

        Englishman Joseph Priestly discovered oxygen in 1774, later moved to Northumberland PA. In 1766 Englishman Henry Cavendish produced hydrogen, Lavoisier named it. Likewise he named oxygen.

        Dang Frenchies, they keep taking credit for what hardworking English people did.

    Punta Gorda, I feel your pain! I put in almost 26 in the Navy. My memories of abominable chow center around the infamous CHICKEN FRIED STEAK and versions therof. Back in the day, the Navy bought beef graded ‘canner and cutter’. At least that’s what it said on the brown box with the crescent moon stamped on it. Contrary to popular myth, the SOS was pretty damned good, though.

    The left calls everybody else “Fascists”.

    The basic tenets of Fascism are;

    1. Anti-Semitism; they really, really hate Jews.

    2. An infatuation with Eastern mysticism, especially the Islamic version, inherited from the “German Romantic” literary movement of the late 18th and early 19th Centuries AD.

    3. A hatred of modern, industrial, technological civilization as “unnatural”; they demand a “return to the soil”, with only such technology as can be used to destroy their enemies being considered allowable (hence, the Wehrmacht and Luftwaffe).

    4. A sharp divide between an exalted “ruling class” and everybody else.

    5. A belief in the innate superiority of one “race” over another, and a hatred of “mixing” such.

    6. A belief that they (the fascists) are entitled to use violence against anybody and everybody else, either to achieve their goals or just because they feel like hurting somebody.

    7. Vegetarianism regarded as not merely “good” (which it really isn’t, medically speaking) but holy.

    8. A hatred of tobacco use coupled with an exaltation of other drugs, notably hashish, hemp, and (yes) marijuana.

    9. A determination to eradicate civilization as a whole, so that its remnants will be puzzled over a thousand years in the future by whatever “scholars” there might be.

    And

    10. The worship of a leader as a living god.

    That is the definition of “fascism”.

    It is also a description of the tenets of the modern day “enlightened” left. I don’t know too many “conservatives” that would agree with any of the above.

    If the mavens of the left want to see real fascism in action, they should start by looking in a mirror.

        I forgot to mention;

        11. A rejection of Christianity and a demand for return to ancient pagan beliefs. Thus, worshiping “Holy Mother Gaia”, which puts them right back with the ancient Persians.

        There really ism’t anywhere the post-modern “progressives” have gone that the fascists of a century ago didn’t get to first.

      This may be splitting hairs eon, but most of the characteristics you pointed out are characteristics of Nazis, not Fascists. And while all Nazis are Fascist, not all Fascists are Nazis.

      4, 6 and 10 were followed by the blackshirts throughout Europe following Mussolini’s invention of modern Fascism. He was originally a Socialist, but felt that the Socialist Internationale was too much under the control of Russian Communists and had nothing to offer Italy, so he took the protofascism of Italy and grafted on his own version of nationalist Socialism onto it as he took over the Party.

      1,2,3,5,7, 8, were mostly Nazi additions to Fascism.

        Il Duce wanted modern civilization gone, too, as part of his dream of recreating the Roman Empire that had been dead for about 13 centuries before he was born.

        As for his racial superiority creds, look up the Italian atrocities in Ethiopia and Albania (1923-39) and the “miscegenation law” of 1924 sometime.

    Chickens are fast food for predators, meat chickens only take about 8 to 12 weeks until they’re mature and tasty. Pigs and cows are major investments in comparison, yet with specials and my freezer pork and sometimes beef is cheaper than chicken. Heck, last week I thawed and cooked a nice boneless pork roast that was just past the second anniversary of the sell-by date. Delicious!

      You quickly dismiss looking at the code of a page you’re trying to view online and knowing what it does on your computer, and writing simple pages you control without the mysterious bloat of “drop pics here click publish” composing software. Well, it probably won’t hurt you.

      BTW, online for 15 years now has been the famous Not Pron riddle, puzzle, game whatever, has 140 levels. Spoiler alert, solving many levels requires looking at a page’s code for hints and info. You can hide a lot of stuff in code.

        But as historically been a problem on these here intrawebs, one man’s statement is another man’s snark, or otherwise is somehow something someone is gonna decide to be upset with. Since I am not in the head of the person who writes something, I found it works best to simply read anything as being neutral-sounding unless otherwise indicated, and assume joking before insulting. Better for the blood pressure and digestion.
