It was not part of their blood,
It came to them very late,
With long arrears to make good,
When the Saxon began to hate.

    They were not easily moved,
They were icy — willing to wait
Till every count should be proved,
Ere the Saxon began to hate.

Their voices were even and low.
Their eyes were level and straight.
There was neither sign nor show
When the Saxon began to hate.

It was not preached to the crowd.
It was not taught by the state.
    No man spoke it aloud
When the Saxon began to hate.

    It was not suddently bred.
    It will not swiftly abate.
    Through the chilled years ahead,
When Time shall count from the date
That the Saxon began to hate.

The Gods of the Copybook Headings” is a poem published by Rudyard Kipling in 1919, which, editor Andrew Rutherford said, contained “age-old, unfashionable wisdom” that Kipling saw as having been forgotten by society and replaced by “habits of wishful thinking.”[1]

The “copybook headings” to which the title refers were proverbs or maxims, extolling age old wisdom – virtues such as honesty or fair dealing that were printed at the top of the pages of 19th-century British students’ special notebooks, called copybooks. The school-children had to write them by hand repeatedly down the page. However, the marketplaces were areas that dishonesty and immorality ruled. The Gods (or principles) of the marketplace represent selfishness, reckless progress, over-indulgence and a failure to learn from the past.

The Gods Of The Copybook Headings
      Rudyard Kipling
As I pass through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market-Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall.
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn.
That water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision, and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorilas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
      Being neither clud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market-Place;
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch.
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch.
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings.
So we worshiped the Gods of the Market Who promiced these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promiced perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: ‘Stick to the Devil you know.’

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promiced the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbor and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: ‘The Wages of Sin is Death/’

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
      By robbing selective Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: ‘If you don’t work you die.’

The the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tounged wizards withdrew,
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to belive it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four—
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man—
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began:—
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her mire,
      And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;
And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will burn,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

      ZAR BELK!

    Perfect.

    Perfectly correct.

By the way, The European civilization did not always invent things first. They figured out how to use the ideas more effectively.
Why are all the people being induced and convinced to come to Western Civilization?
But they are not coming to participate in Western Civilization nor by its rules for the most part. There are a whole lot of good people struggling to not engage the feather touch switch for the flip. A whole lot. And they have been holding back for a long long while.

I postedthis yesterday a few minutes ago. It has some of the feel and the theme many feel.

White males who are actually from and living Western Civilization and its mores and values have been the best thing for all civilizations. There is that conquest period that came after over fifteen hundred years of the west constantly being invaded and suffering great losses repelling invaders. 300 years of battle against Persia set up the eastern Roman Empire for vast losses and eventual loss to the Muslims. The there were the various tribal groups like the Huns, The Golden Horde,Vandals, Visigoths, etc. and today the Globalists seek ultimate power and destruction of all they oppose. Our capture at higher levels brought aabout much evil here and the brainwashing of invaders and others that they were victims to whom all wrong in the world is the fault of the white man. The Economic Hit Man practice now also being carried out by China in addition to the World Bank and such is an example of bad tyrants doing bad things. Those globalists have almost hit that hair trigger also. The Democrats destruction of the economy with the UNIparty and the planned invasions has also been jostling the hair trigger.
The creation of new and more and different and more of the old civilization may be very hurtful to many evil people. One never knows exactly what will result after the flip.

Yesterday my sister-in-law saw a Craig’s List add for a man moving and needing to give a Camel away free to a good home. She called to tell me about it and asked if I knew anyone who wanted a camel. It happens that I have a young blue and purple haired employee with acreage in the county who is just odd enough that I had to ask her. She thought it was a great idea and said she would love to have a camel to go with her miniature cow and goats. Getting the man’s phone number we called to inquire about the camel. He was livid, There was no camel, he never had a camel, didn’t know anyone who had ever had a camel. Someone had placed the add as a practical joke. His phone had been ringing nonstop for hours and he didn’t know how to get the ad removed.
Story has nothing to do with the thread but we all though it was a good prank. Aren’t “friends” great?

NORMAN AND SAXON by Rudyard Kipling

“My son,” said the Norman Baron, “I am dying, and you will
    be heir
To all the broad acres in England that William gave me for
    share
When he conquered the Saxon at Hastings, and a nice little
    handful it is.
But before you go over to rule it I want you to understand this:–

“The Saxon is not like us Normans. His manners are not so polite.
But he never means anything serious till he talks about justice
    right.
When he stands like an ox in the furrow–with his sullen set eyes
    on your own,
And grumbles, ‘This isn’t fair dealing,’ my son, leave the Saxon
    alone.

“You can horsewhip your Gascony archers, or torture your
    Picardy spears;
But don’t try that game on the Saxon; you’ll have the whole
    brood round your ears.
From the richest old Thane in the county to the poorest chained
    serf in the field,
They’ll be at you and on you like hornets, and, if you are wise,
    you will yield.

“But first you must master their language, their dialect, proverbs
    and songs.
Don’t trust any clerk to interpret when they come with the tale
    of their own wrongs.
Let them know that you know what they are saying; let them feel
that you know what to say.
Yes, even when you want to go hunting, hear ’em out if it takes
    you all day.

They’ll drink every hour of the daylight and poach every hour
    of the dark.
It’s the sport not the rabbits they’re after (we’ve plenty of game
    in the park).
Don’t hang them or cut off their fingers. That’s wasteful as well
    as unkind,
For a hard-bitten, South-country poacher makes the best man-
    at-arms you can find.

“Appear with your wife and the children at their weddings and
    funerals and feasts.
Be polite but not friendly to Bishops; be good to all poor parish
    priests.
Say ‘we,’ ‘us’ and ‘ours’ when you’re talking, instead of ‘you
    fellows’ and ‘I.’
Don’t ride over seeds; keep your temper; and never you tell ’em
    a lie!”

Ironically, pretty much everybody involved in the Conquest was at least partly of Viking blood. The Danes King Harold fought at Stamford Bridge ten days before Hastings certainly were. And Harold and Duke William were first cousins; “Norman” was a corruption of “Northmen”.

eon – if you are using cousins in the genealogical sense, no. Harold had no blood relationship with William the Bastard. If you mean that Anglo-Danes were related to Normans, then yes. And Stamford Bridge was fought between Norwegians (even the country Norway did not yet exist, the region did) and the Anglo-Danes.

I have this very distant (and diluted) ancestor who, with his brother, decided to drive the Moors out of Sicily. Well, he didn’t really throw them out. He just beat the crap out of them and told them he was The Big Mahaf. (That’s the short version.) His successor did even more to crank up Europe without doing any Crusading. Meanwhile, Irish monks were copying everything that was brought to them on an island offshore of Ireland. Thus ended The Dark Ages (well, not THAT quickly, but…)

So here’s the question: if the entire electronic whiz-bang network shut down all at once, leaving nothing but landlines, radio and antenna TV (or maybe not even TV), could that be the start of another Dark Age? (Giggle!!!) The things we take for granted….

The Grave of the Hundred Head

There’s a widow in sleepy Chester
    Who weeps for her only son;
There’s a grave on the Pabeng River,
    A grave that the Burmans shun;
    And there’s Subadar Prag Tewarri
Who tells how the work was done.

A Snider squibbed in the jungle,
    Somebody laughed and fled,
And the men of the First Shikaris
    Picked up their Subaltern dead,
With a big blue mark in his forehead
And the back blown out of his head.

    Subadar Prag Tewarri,
    Jemadar Hira Lal,
    Took command of the party,
    Twenty rifles in all,
Marched them down to the river
As the day was beginning to fall.

They buried the boy by the river,
    A blanket over his face—
They wept for their dead Lieutenant,
The men of an alien race—
They made a samadh in his honor,
    A mark for his resting-place.

For they swore by the Holy Water,
They swore by the salt they ate,
That the soul of Lieutenant Eshmitt Sahib
Should go to his God in state,
    With fifty file of Burmans
    To open him Heaven’s gate.

The men of the First Shikaris
Marched till the break of day,
Till they came to the rebel village,
    The village of Pabengmay—
    A jingal covered the clearing,
    Calthrops hampered the way.

    Subadar Prag Tewarri,
    Bidding them load with ball,
    Halted a dozen rifles
    Under the village wall;
    Sent out a flanking-party
    With Jemadar Hira Lal.

The men of the First Shikaris
    Shouted and smote and slew,
    Turning the grinning jingal
    On to the howling crew.
    The Jemadar’s flanking-party
    Butchered the folk who flew.

Long was the morn of slaughter,
Long was the list of slain,
    Five score heads were taken,
    Five score heads and twain;
And the men of the First Shikaris
Went back to their grave again,

    Each man bearing a basket
Red as his palms that day,
Red as the blazing village –
    The village of Pabengmay,
And the “drip-drip-drip” from the baskets
Reddened the grass by the way.

They made a pile of their trophies
High as a tall man’s chin,
    Head upon head distorted,
    Set in a sightless grin,
    Anger and pain and terror
    Stamped on the smoke-scorched skin.

    Subadar Prag Tewarri
Put the head of the Boh
On the top of the mound of triumph,
The head of his son below—
With the sword and the peacock-banner
That the world might behold and know.

    Thus the samadh was perfect,
    Thus was the lesson plain
Of the wrath of the First Shikaris –
    The price of a white man slain;
And the men of the First Shikaris
    Went back into camp again.

Then a silence came to the river,
A hush fell over the shore,
And Bohs that were brave departed,
    And Sniders squibbed no more;
    For the Burmans said
    That a white man’s head
Must be paid for with heads five-score.

There’s a widow in sleepy Chester
    Who weeps for her only son;
There’s a grave on the Pabeng River,
    A grave that the Burmans shun;
    And there’s Subadar Prag Tewarri

Also, while Mr. Baldwin’s letter is excellent and accurate, it addresses an infringement that is NOT the most critical or most harmful to your rights under the Second Amendment…that would be the oh-so-innocuous sounding Universal Background Checks which are claimed to address the non-existent “loopholes” at gun shows and the internet which are in fact a full-on frontal assault against private rights and private property, the last bastion of commerce in and access to the tools of self-defense that are outside the purview of registration and control of government…and therefore a critical key to resistance to the proposals that the open letter linked above addresses.

The private resale or gifting of firearms between private parties, friends, and family members that has always and forever been exempt from the control and registration that federal forms (4473) and computerized “background checks” absolutely are. You say the law requires the FBI to destroy the records of approved firearms purchases and not compile a database? Right. The internet is forever remember? And so are 4473’s which contain even more specific information than the NICS, and those are actually by federal law required to be permanent and forever.

Absolutely “red-flag” laws are critically important to defeat as a provable infringement on Constitutional rights. But the basis for enforcement of them should the resistance fail is the much more surreptitious and accepted threat (even within the ranks of gunnies) of UBC’s due to their presentation and promotion as “common-sense” and harmless to your rights, which are by far the greater threat to freedom from government oppression.

        ATF says not forever:

Licensees shall retain each ATF Form 4473 for a period of not less than 20 years after the date of sale or disposition. Where a licensee has initiated a National Instant Background Check System (NICS) check for a proposed firearms transaction, but the sale, delivery, or transfer of the firearm is not made, the licensee shall record any transaction number on the Form 4473, and retain the Form 4473 for a period of not less than 5 years after the date of the NICS inquiry.

I do remember when a licensee shuts down their big transaction book goes to ATF, which could be all on computer, and perhaps could be assembled into a de facto registry.

      • March 22, 2019 at 10:53 pm

Make no mistake, the records center in W. Virginia where FFL records go upon discontinuing of business, is a permanent database of every firearm that crossed that dealer’s counter and who bought it, for at least two decades, and in nearly forty years of direct involvement in the business I never heard of one dealer who discarded any records even then, call it CYA in that case. And other types of transactions like the purchase of more than one handgun or “assault rifle” within several days, incurs immediate and even more direct reporting and registration.

NICS records exist too, somewhere, whether by design or by default. How much trust do you have in the veracity and/or the competency of the weaponized gov agencies that ATF and FBI certainly are, that approved transaction records are zapped as required? They don’t call ’em FIBies for nothing.

Both of which as I thought I made clear above, makes this a critical right worth fighting for:

“When a transaction takes place between unlicensed persons who reside in the same State, the GCA does not require any record keeping. An unlicensed person may sell a firearm to another unlicensed person in his or her State of residence and, similarly, an unlicensed person may buy a firearm from another unlicensed person who resides in the same State. It is not necessary under Federal law for a Federal firearms licensee (FFL) to assist in the sale or transfer when the buyer and seller are “same–State” residents.”

(good to know too, that “resident” as applied here is a very nebulous term and very flexible in effect.)

Every firearm that you buy and every firearm component defined as one (lowers etc), that is delivered to you by a licensee and/or NICS, is tied directly to you. But every one that you obtain from a private seller (“unlicensed person” in their parlance) is not. Conversely, every one that you sell to another private party, breaks that chain of control as well.

The private acquisition and sale of firearms through the NPA (National Private Armory) is exempt from the control and defacto registration of the tools of your Constitutionally guaranteed rights. Fight for that right.

I just read the other day that the Electoral College was because the Founders didn’t even trust each other. Knew before that the whole Bill of Rights was because the States didn’t want to give the national government more power than under the Articles of Confederation without assurances. Given that politicians then were scandalous by modern ethical standards, I’d surmise not trusting elected officials until proven otherwise was quite common.

“No man’s life, liberty, or property is safe while the legislature is in session.”
This is why every government must be made to fear its citizens and not the other way around.

The Mueller report in the hands of AG Barr. Now, comes the next act in the play. I’ve wondered if Trump considers the release a trip wire — to begin the investigation of the true criminals in this mess.

This is part of the Grand Progressive Plan to flip Texas to blue, yes?

The San Antonio City Council banned Chick-fil-A from San Antonio International Airport over “anti-LGBTQ behavior” as part of a new concession plan for the airport.

By that criteria can they also ban Mormon and Muslim missionaries?

“What happened last time they did that?”
    “Civilization, I think”

    Flip the switch.

    End of civilization, I think.
IF, we actually, for real, no politicians or others demanding how we do it:
    They All Die.
God gets to sort us all out.
We are too good at war and know it.
Thus we purpose to be long to hate.

I’ll be honest, I didn’t read all the comments. What I will say is, Beware The Awakened WASP. That should embody my statement.
