Thing is, the civil war’s started.

    Kyle Rittenhouse, Ashli Babbitt.

There is one whole Hell of a lot of anger out there. I’m sure Pelosi Galore and Cocaine Mitch thought they were being very slick. We were supposed to be demoralized like the soy boys 4 years ago.

I think they’re gonna find out they made a big mistake.

      Yep… it’s that easy…

For years, they’ve been ramping up the Marxism… weaponized envy… and most people didn’t pay much attention because it wasn’t affecting their daily lives. That is about to change.

Just a small observation, what if the fence put up around Congress wasn’t to keep us out but to keep them in? Sort of like the bar scene in a “Bronx Tale.”

    everyone ignores Paul Revere’s FIRST ride..to portsmouth,NH on december 13th of 1774

    https://www.smithsonianmag.com/history/the-midday-ride-of-paul-revere-3661066/

the cannons, muskets, and powder they got from Fort William and Mary were all stored in various barns around Lexington..and Captain Parker knew where it all was. General Gage was there to collect it and probably burn the town down as punishment.

later it was all used up at bunker hill/breeds hill

Ale, beer, stout, brandy, wine (yes, Brandywine Creek was so named because there was a winery there), whiskies, port, sherry, and etc.

And of course gin, but most sensible people didn’t want to end up “drunk for a penny, dead drunk for twopence” even if a free clean straw was included.

The reason was the same as the popularity of tea and coffee. Most places, the water was not safe to drink unless boiled, and sometimes not even then. Tea and coffee made boiled water palatable.

The rest tended to kill the microbes that otherwise might cause certain “complaints”- like spending all night or a few days and nights in the loo. And possibly dying of dehydration as a result. Yes, they knew about “oral rehydration” even then (honey in water was the standard) but that required a source of clean, uncontaminated water, the lack of same being the original problem.

Also, the old English tradition was that if you had to drink something, you might as well get drunk on it.

What is I read about the Insurrection Act being signed sealed and delivered? What will it mean for America?

      Insurrection Act of 1807;

      https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Insurrection_Act_of_1807

First, the President must “publish” an order for the “insurrectionists” to disperse. Then, if they don’t, he can use the military to suppress the “insurrection”.

Keep in mind that at the time, what we call “law enforcement organizations” did not exist, here or really anywhere. Everything from city police, to federal marshals, to etc. came along after the Napoleonic Wars.

As for “sheriffs” or rather “shire reeves”, they were originally just the commander of the local baron’s little group of guards- and also the guys responsible for collecting taxes.

The Insurrection Act is really outmoded today, although it was invoked by Abraham Lincoln during the New York draft riots of 1863.

Mostly, it’s still on the books because nobody ever thought it was worth going to the trouble of repealing it.

Looked it up yesterday, so this is from memory, but it has actually been used quite often by presidents. Most recently, George HW Bush used it twice. So, it may be outmoded, but it is useful at times.

Sorry, no! The offices of U.S. Marshals and Deputy Marshal were created by the first Congress in the Judiciary Act of 1789, the same legislation that established the Federal judicial system. The Marshals were given extensive authority to support the federal courts within their judicial districts and to carry out all lawful orders issued by judges, Congress, or the president.
